Puzzle Cube

Objective: Brainstoriming and sketch positive solutions to an existing design problem. Select an approach that meets or satifies the constraints given in a design brief. Create simple extruded solid computer aided design (CAD), models from dimensioned sketches.

In this assignment called Puzzle Cube, we first had to identify the problem from the design process. Then we brainstormed our ideas by sketching different combinations. The next step was to select an approach by picking five shapes to make a 3 by 3 cube. We had to make a model/Prototype out of wooden cubes that replicas the plastic cube used to make out five shapes. Our last step was to consider packaging by creating a box to package the cube as if someone was buying the cube.

Conclusion Questions, Packaging

Applied Statistics

Objective : Students should be able to generate a data set of linear measurement, calculate the mean, mode, median, and range of a data set, create a histogram of recorded measurements showing class interval and frequency.

In Applied Statistics, we had to take all our cubes and found the precise measurement. After figuring out the measuremtns we had to find the mean, median, mode, and range of our cubes. We showed our work in our Engineer's notebook, which is picture below.

Sketching Techniques

In the unit Sketching Techniques, we learned about sketching objects in different views. We learned three different types of pictorials and they are, Isometric, Obliques, Multi View. The picture on the left is my engineers notebook which it shows objects that are drawn in multi view which is top, front and right. The middle picture is the Isometric, Oblique, and multi view pictorials. The picture on the right is perspective pictorials which show 1 point, 2 poit, and 3 point perspectives.

History of Measurements (Power Point)

In this assignment, me and my partner had to create a power Point including information of the history of measurements. We first researched the topic and decided what we will put on the power point. Basically all the important and valuable information is on the Power Point. The picute below shows the powerpoint I had to create about the history of measurements. I took important information and organized it to make each slide.

Book Jacket

In this assignment, we had to individually create a book jacket for our history of measurements. The book jacket includes images of the topic, a title on the cover page, and information about the author and also an image of the author.

   In the picture to the right of my Engineer's notebook, I did my conclusion questions and wrote about what and how I did everything. I also included pictures to help visualize what I did on my book jacket.

Innovation : Beverage Cup

We were told to innovate a beverage container as one of our assignments. The first thing that me and my partner did was brainstorm our ideas and sketch them before we move oon to our final results. After doing this we came up with a cup that had a built in straw inside and a wrist attached to it so it can be wrapped around your wrist. This makes the cup look more interesting and easier to use as well.


Evolution of Product : Watch

Power Point Presentation
Me and my partner had to create a powerpoint of a product that has evolved from time. We decided to do the powerpoint on watches. Researching information of the product, we found out what we had to put on our powerpoint. The history, timeline, innovation, and reference information were all included in the powerpoint. All the information we ressearched, was put together and organized in each slide.
